OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES: JACK REACHER GRAND PRIZE CONTEST
ELIGIBILITY: You must be 19 years of age and a legal resident of British Columbia
at time of entry. Employees of 24 Hours, its respective parent,
affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors, prize suppliers,
promotional partners and promotional agencies, and the immediate family
members of each are not eligible. The Contest begins 12:00am on Monday,
November 26, 2012 and closes on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at noon (the
"Contest Period"). One valid entry per contestant per day. No purchase
is necessary to enter the Contest. This contest is void where prohibited
by law
HOW TO ENTER. You will require a Upickem username and password or
Facebook account. To enter the Contest, fill out and submit the online
entry form located on the Contest site at www.vancouver.24hrs.ca/contests.
PRIZES:
Grand Prize of trip to Pittsburgh to watch the premiere of JACK
REACHER
Includes Two (2) round-trip, economy-class airline tickets from
international airport nearest the Grand Prize winner’s hometown to
Pittsburgh, PA.
Two (2) nights hotel stay (single room, double occupancy) at the Westin
Hotel – Pittsburgh, PA (Grand Prize winner and his/her guest.) Hotel
will require a valid credit card in an adult guest’s name to cover
incidentals. Round-Trip ground transfers (single automobile or taxi
reimbursement) for two (2) (Grand Prize winner and his/her guest)
to/from airport and hotel in Pittsburgh, PA
Two (2) tickets (for Grand Prize winner and his/her guest) to the Motion
Picture premiere on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Southside Works
Cinema in Pittsburgh, PA.
Round-trip group ground transfer (shuttle) (Grand Prize winner and
his/her guest) to/from Westin Hotel to premiere location in Pittsburgh,
PA.
Two (2) tickets for a city bus tour from Just Ducky Tours, Inc
Limited Travel insurance for two (2) (Grand prize winner and his/her guest)
**Travel for Grand Prize winner and his/her one (1) guest must take place on December 14, 2012 – December 16, 2012;
**The Grand Prize winner must be eighteen (18) years of age at the time of entry;
**Entrants acknowledge that the tickets to the premiere have no monetary
value, and in the event that the Motion Picture premiere in Pittsburgh,
PA is delayed, postponed or cancelled for any reason, that portion of
the Grand Prize shall be forfeited and no substitution will be provided;
**Grand Prize winner and his/her guest must have valid passport; Grand
Prize winner and his/her guest are responsible for any additional visa
requirements; Passport copies will be required within 24 hours of prize
notification to verify;
**Prize Acceptance Agreement must be approved, signed and sent back to Paramount Pictures prior to start of promotion.
Paramount reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater
value should the above-described Prize be unavailable. If the Promotion
does not launch, Paramount has no further obligation to OUTLET.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
WINNER SELECTION: a. A random draw will be held on Wednesday, December
5, 2012 at the 24 Hours Vancouver office, 554 East 15th Avenue, Vancouver, British Columbia at approximately 1:00pm, Pacific Standard Time. The potential Prize
winner(s) will be selected from all eligible entries received during the
Entry Period. Winners will be contacted on Wednesday December 5, 2012
and follow the instructions to claim their prize.
Before being declared a winner, selected entrants will be required to
answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise,
a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question by phone call, and
to comply with all the Contest Rules in order to be deemed an official
winner and to sign such Declaration and Release forms as required by
Contest Sponsors, and in the case of the Grand Prize winner, guest of
winner will be required to sign such Declaration and Release forms as
required by Contest Sponsors.
b. Upon notification, the potential winner(s) must respond within 24
hours of being contacted or within the time period specified by the 24 Hours representative. If the potential winner(s) do not respond in
accordance with the Contest Rules or the potential winner does not
comply with the Contest Rules, he/she will be disqualified and will not
receive a prize and another potential winner may be selected. Contest
Sponsors are not responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever
of a potential winner to receive notification or for Contest Sponsors to
receive potential winner’s response. The prizes are not transferable or
convertible to cash and must be accepted as awarded.
c. Winners will be required to sign an agreement and release confirming
compliance with the Contest Rules and acceptance of the prize as
offered, and
(i) releasing the Contest Sponsors and their respective parent
companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees directors, officers,
suppliers, agents, sponsors and administrators from any and all
liability for any loss, harm, damages, cost or expense arising out of
participation in this Contest or participating in any prize-related
activity or the acceptance, use or misuse of any prize, including
without limitation costs injuries, losses and damages related to
personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property,
rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false
light, or from any and all claims of third parties arising there from;
and
(ii) granting Contest Sponsors the unrestricted rights, in their
collective or individual discretion, to publish without any further
compensation the name, picture, portrait, likeness, voice and ideas of
that entrant for advertising and promotional purposes. The agreement and
release must be returned within two business days of the notification
date
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
Automated entries of any kind are not allowed. Detection of said
automated entries will lead to entries being voided.
Only one registered account per entrant. If multiple accounts are
detected for a single entrant, they will be disabled and entries
disqualified.
Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and
by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all
matters pertaining to the contest.
24 Hours reserves the right to use any and all information related to
the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the
contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited
by law.
The Contest and all of the related pages, contents and code are
copyright, UPICKEM, and/or 24 Hours. Copying or unauthorized use of
any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property
without the express written consent of its owner is strictly
prohibited.
Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors,
and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors,
employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors,
and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any
kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property
which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or
use of the prize.
Sponsors and Administrators are not responsible for any incorrect or
inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the
equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or
by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of
Entries in the Contest. Sponsors and Administrators assume no
responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect,
delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft
or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, Entries.
Sponsors and Administrators are not responsible for any problems,
failures or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines,
computer online systems, servers, providers, computer equipment,
software, e-mail, players, or browsers, on account of technical problems
or traffic congestion on the Internet, at any website, or on account of
any combination of the foregoing. Sponsors and Administrators are not
responsible for any injury or damage to Entrants or to any computer
related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in
this Contest. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running
as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering,
unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other
causes beyond the control of Sponsors and Administrators which corrupt
or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper
conduct of this Contest, and the Sponsors reserve the right at their
sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest.
UPICKEM and 24 Hours are not responsible for Internet crashes or
slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite
failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or
acts of man or God.
All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.
This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a
contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be
disqualified and reported to authorities.
Toronto Sun reserves the right to change the rules at any time.
